Inside the Walls of Het Kasteel
After an initial artist book project was abandoned in 2016—one that explored his stay in a château occupied by artists from the contemporary scene—Ilan Weiss returns, nearly ten years later, to this initiative with a renewed vision and the maturity gained over time. The result is a series of thirty unique copies of an artist book, each entirely hand-crafted by the artist and conceived as an individual work of art.
These volumes combine pictorial narration with intimate and poetic texts, retracing the experience lived by the artist. From the very first pages, the reader is invited to immerse themselves in a singular world, populated by hybrid images that lie somewhere between photography and painting.
Het Kasteel: A Unique Hand-Finished Edition
Het Kasteel, a limited-edition artist book by Ilan Weiss, brings together design, narrative, and hand craftsmanship. Each copy is carefully finished by the artist, combining printed and handmade elements that make every book slightly different.
