Brussels talent, shining locally & worldwide
Together, we shine—at home and abroad.
PINGUINSPACE is a neutral, artist‑led hub that assembles Brussels’ most visionary creators under one roof—free from the constraints of commercial representation, gallery politics, or market‐driven compromises. From our base in the vibrant Dansaert district, we amplify their work across Europe and Latin America, turning local brilliance into a global conversation.
Our Vision
Brussels already hosts extraordinary artistic voices. Our mission is to amplify their impact—celebrating them in Belgium’s leading institutions and sharing their work with the wider world. We exist to:
Centralise talent in an open, conflict‑free space where painters, sculptors, photographers, performers and digital pioneers can experiment side‑by‑side.
Protect artistic autonomy by operating outside the interests of galleries, dealers, or private agendas.
Build international visibility through touring exhibitions, cross‑border residencies and strategic partnerships.
Foster solidarity within a curated cohort that shares skills, resources and a collective stage.
Our Model
Selective Cohorts — Each year we invite a focused group of outstanding Brussels‑based artists after an open call reviewed by an independent jury.
Shared Production & Project Space — Members access studios, equipment and a modular exhibition area that can morph from white cube to black box overnight.
Curatorial Residencies & Mentorship — Visiting curators, writers and cultural producers work hands‑on with the cohort, refining concepts and opening networks.
Flagship Exhibitions & International Showcases — Each cycle debuts at renowned Belgian institutions before traveling to partner venues across Europe via Creative Europe consortia, and onward to Mexico City and selected Latin‑American capitals through our Mexico hub.
Documentation & Publishing — Each cycle culminates in a bilingual catalogue and digital archive, ensuring long‑term discoverability by collectors, critics and institutions worldwide.
The Neutral Advantage
Operating independently from commercial galleries allows us to:
Spotlight emerging excellence without market pressure.
Offer equal access to all chosen artists, whether represented or not.
Serve as a trusted connector between talent, institutions and collectors, free of commission‑driven bias.
Europe ⇄ Latin America
PINGUINSPACE builds cultural bridges:
Creative Europe Network — We co‑produce exhibitions and residencies with like‑minded organisations in Spain, Portugal, France, Germany and beyond.
Mexico & The Americas — Our founder’s roots unlock residencies in Mexico City, Guadalajara and Oaxaca, linking Brussels cohorts to the thriving Latin‑American art scene.
By weaving these circuits, Brussels artists gain the visibility they deserve—and international audiences encounter fresh voices that challenge, provoke and inspire.
