Welcome to

PINGUIN space is an artist-led platform rooted in Belgium, founded by Ilan Weiss in 2017, dedicated to exhibitions, artist books, and a new program in Mexico now taking shape.

We support only artists living and working in Belgium — recognizing genuine talent and helping it grow, whether emerging or established. Guided by a deep commitment to artistic excellence, we seek out work with enduring relevance, offering artists the space, visibility, and tools to thrive through exhibitions, art books, and our developing Mexican program.

Since 2017 - Building Careers, Not Just Exhibitions

Over 15 exhibitions produced with artists at defining moments in their journey — offering visibility and support at a stage where their voice was emerging. Many have since gone on to present their work in significant exhibitions, biennials, and art fairs, building the careers that were only beginning when we first worked together. And the list goes on…

PINGUIN Space is built around three intertwined projects

At PINGUIN space, every project starts with talent discovery.
We focus on artists who live and work in Belgium, and Belgian artists abroad, guiding them from their first curated show to creating artist books and reaching international audiences.
Our three programs — PINGUINexhibitions, PINGUINvolumns, and PINGUINmexicon — are designed to support artists at every stage of their journey.

PINGUINexhibitions
Where Belgian-rooted talent meets the public.
We curate solo and group shows that highlight emerging and career artists from Belgium, offering them visibility, professional support, and a meaningful connection to audiences.
PINGUINvolumns
Artist books as works of art. We accompany artists through the process of designing and producing limited-edition, hand-finished books that translate their vision into a tangible, collectible object.
PINGUINmexico
Building bridges between Belgium and Mexico. Through residencies, exhibitions, and collaborations, we help Belgian-rooted artists expand their reach and engage with new cultural contexts. (Currently under construction — stay tuned.)
